OPENING THE UNIT MAINTENANCE · To prevent vinyl cover from fading and cracking, thoroughly wash with soap and water then apply a vinyl protectant (use only 303 Protectant, Scotch Guard Protective Gel, or UV Max by Rolite Co.) at least once a month. This procedure will also keep the cover soft and easier to open and close in cold weather. · Regularly wipe inside of rails, and apply a silicone spray (i.e. kleen-flo "kleen slip") to inside of rails and to hub of end cap. This procedure is very important if there is a great amount of dust - such as when traveling gravel roads. · Silicone spray in the lock ratchet mechanism will keep all parts properly lubricated. · DO NOT USE ANY OIL BASE PRODUCTS (i.e. WD 40, or grease ) IN RAILS OR RATCHET MECHANISM. |
